Obituary for William Odel Traywick

William Odell Traywick “Bill”- father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many – passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Baytown, TX. at the age of 68.

Bill was born in Columbus, Mississippi on July 24,1950, to Birdie Mae Estes and Odis William Traywick.
He leaves as his legacy five daughters: Lisa Harlow, Kimberly Traywick Rosprim, Kristen Barron, Danielle Stafford, and Alyssa Traywick. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren: Ryenn Traywick, Courtney Ewing, Desa Barrientes, Bryce Harlow, Mackenzi Barron, Reagan and Evan Stafford, and Elyse Crowl, and great-grandchildren: Rowan Ewing and Dexter Phillips.

He was preceded in death by: Birdie and Gene Estes (mother & step-father), Odis Traywick (father), Betty Harr (sister), and Sandy Traywick (sister).

Bill graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and joined the Navy for a short time after high school. Throughout his life, Bill had many loves. He could be found in his early years as an active member of The Baytown Little Theater. He enjoyed playing softball where he acquired the nickname “Pigger” and was on a bowling league for years. Bill enjoyed his later years at the Moose Lodge where he spent a lot of time hanging out with friends, singing karaoke, and giving back to the community.

Most would have seen Bill as a “common man”, but he would tell you his greatest accomplishment was simply being a father to his five beautiful girls. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a fun, loving and selfless man who had a charismatic way that made him loved by many.
A Celebration of Life is being scheduled for his family and friends, additional information will be shared at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to The Carlisle Cemetery Maintenance Fund at P.O. Box 127, Groveton, TX 75845.
