In Loving Memory of Joyce Holcomb July 23, 1946 - October 10, 2018

Joyce Holcomb, a horticulturist with long-time connections to Navasota, passed peacefully from this world on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 after a brave journey with breast cancer.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Larry Holcomb; her brother, Jerry Wayne Allen; her daughters, Cynthie Thomas, Tiffany Baker, and Stacy Mendoza; and her grandchildren, Megan Moretta, Carrie Thomas, Ryleigh and Savannah Baker, and Ashton Mendoza. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Allen, and her sister Brenda Coleman.

Joyce was born on July 23, 1946 in San Bernardino, California to Robert and Mary Allen. She attended and graduated from Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California. She married her first husband in 1966 and would have three beautiful daughters, Cynthie, Tiffany and Stacy, who were the most important part of her life. In 1994, Joyce would marry her fun-loving husband of 24 years, Larry Holcomb.
While residing in Spring, Texas for 44 years, Joyce found her passion and purpose working with flowers and plants for most of her professional life. Most recently, she was the store manager of Martha’s Bloomers Home & Garden in Navasota, Texas where she worked for about 18 years.
Family and friends will remember Joyce for being a kind, caring friend, mother, and wife, who had a love for nature, an indomitable spirit, and an abiding faith in God. Joyce had the ability to make everyone she met feel special and important. Her loving and compassionate character touched the lives of many and she will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life memorial for family and friends is planned for 2pm on October 21st at Martha’s Bloomers in Navasota, Texas on Highway 6, in the Arbor room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to Iglesia Pentecostes Fuente De Luz church in Navasota, Texas through the following link:
