Obituary for CYRIL DEARBURN ANDERSON

Dr. Cyril Dearburn Anderson of Humble 89 left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday January 15 2019 after a brief illness.
He joins his wife of 52 years Janet Wenzing Anderson who preceded him.
He is survived by four children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Cyril was born in Folsom West Virginia on November 28, 1929 to Asa Howard and Fostaline Snodgrass Anderson.
He attended Glenville State College and went on to earn his PhD in Microbiology at West Virginia University in Morgantown West Virginia.
He served in the US Navy as a Corpsman during the Korean War where he met his bride Janet Wenzing a Navy Lieutenant and Nurse while assigned to Beaufort Naval Hospital they were married August 23, 1954.
Dr. Anderson worked as a scientist and researcher for Abbot Laboratories in Chicago Illinois where he helped develop the production of Erythromycin and other pharmaceuticals that have saved and improved the lives of many.
He also shared his knowledge and expertise as a professor at Harry Truman University in Kirksville Missouri, and later at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena Texas.
He went on to work in hazardous waste management at NASA Houston then later for the Atomic Energy Commission in Nashville Tennessee.
He retired in La Grange Texas in 1999.
He was a tireless student and researcher and was always seeking a better way or a better solution, except when it came to loving his wife Janet, his family and his relationship with God, those were rock solid and absolute.
Services will be held at the Houston National Cemetery Chapel on January 23 at 1 pm. He will be laid to rest with military honors next to his beloved wife in the Houston National Cemetery honoring his service to America.
